Onslow County is home to a number of enjoyable and educational summer camps for children and teens. Although it may feel like summer is still far away, now is the time to start determining what summer camps are right for your child—just don’t forget to register soon to make sure your child has a spot!
Summer day camps provide a fun, productive, safe, and affordable way for your children to enjoy the summer months. Various sessions are available for children between the ages of 4 and 15. Activities include arts and crafts and trips to various recreation, cultural, and educational venues. The Recreation and Parks Department offers a wide variety of programs to meet your needs.

Located at the Zing Zumm Children’s Museum of Jacksonville, this Summer Day Camp is specifically tailored to children between the ages of 4 and 10. Each day provides a different set of activities—filled with fun and creativity to stimulate your child’s growing mind.
Registration is open for Summer Day Camp and will close on June 22nd. For the entire week, the Camp costs $150 per child. Campers will need to bring their own lunch to camp.
This year’s Zing Zumm Camps are held at the Montessori Children’s School. If you are a member of Zing Zumm or your child is a student at Montessori Children’s School, you’ll receive a 10% discount.

The YMCA Summer Day Camp is open to members and non-members of the Y and is perfect for kids in grades K–6th. The Y’s Camp programs focus on learning skills, developing character, and making friends. Children will enjoy camp songs, archery, talent shows, and outdoor activities.
Dates: June 19–August 11
6am-6pm.
Cost: $25 Registration Fee + $10 Deposit for each week registered (NON-REFUNDABLE)
$100 per week – Drafted two weeks in advance.

Sturgeon City offers a series of weekly summer camps with multiple age groups and themes—from learning about nature, animals, and plants to astronomy and geology. If your child is interested in building science skills and learning more about the environment, this is the perfect camp.

The Onslow County Parks and Rec Summer Camp offers two main sessions and two bonus weeks for kids ages 6–12.

Located in Jacksonville, Giggles Child Care provides a full eight-hour summer camp for kids 5 years old through 5th grade. The Camp includes daily field trips, low teacher-to-child ratios, and snacks, lunches, and activities all included.
Dates: June 12–August 25. You can register for the entire summer, a weekly option, or a daily option.
