Ways to Give
The easiest, quickest, and most secure way to give to One Place is via credit card through our giving platform. When you give you will:
- Have the option to make a one-time or reoccurring donation
- Have the option to donate in honor or in memory of someone.
- Receive an immediate email thank you and receipt for your contribution.
- Earn promotional credits connected with using your credit card.
- Feel amazing that you’ve joined a special group of people or a portion thereof.
If you would like to mail a check, please include where you would like to designate your gift in the memo line. Gifts with no restriction indicated will be applied to the annual support campaign. Send your gift to:

Cash gifts are accepted in the forms of cash, check, money order, or wire transfers regardless of amount.
A gift in-kind is a non-cash donation to One Place for use in assisting us to carry out our mission. Gifts in-kind may include items such as technology and computers, sporting equipment, sculptures, educational materials, books, artwork, and much more. One Place encourages donors to apply for matching gift funds from their employers, if applicable. Unless otherwise stated by the donor, the matching funds will be applied to the same fund as the donor’s direct gift if this meets the matching gift company’s policies.
Endowment gifts can be made to One Place. A formal letter of agreement should be used to specify the name of the donor(s), the amount of the gift, and if applicable, the name of the fund and the donor’s purpose.
The official workplace giving campaign for state employees, North Carolina General Statutes authorize the SECC to offer payroll deduction as an option for state employees contributing to one or more of the charitable organizations approved to participate in the annual campaign. The State Employees Combined Campaign provides state employees and retirees an opportunity and choice in directing their contributions to charitable organizations through a uniform and systematic process.

One Place can accept publicly traded securities. These securities are subject to review by the Board of Directors. All securities will generally be sold as they are received or as soon as possible. Publicly traded securities are valued based on the fair market value of the securities on the date of receipt.
Bequests are made through a donor’s will. They can be made by specifying a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the total estate, or by designating a specific asset to revert to One Place upon the donor’s death.
Sample Language for Gifts by Bequest Going Into a Fund at One Place:
“I give, devise and bequeath _______________________ (describe dollar amount, property to be given, or proportion of residuary estate) to One Place, a nonprofit corporation located in Jacksonville, North Carolina 28546, tax identification number 52-2058409, to benefit the ______________________________ (gift designation.)
One Place may be named as a remainder beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust and will work with donors and their attorneys or financial professionals to structure such agreements. One Place reserves the right to accept or decline any trusts or planned gift.
A donor may name One Place as the beneficiary to their retirement plans. A retirement plan can be a 401(k) savings plan, Individual Retirement Account, or corporate profit-sharing plan.
Real property may be accepted by One Place but is subject to review by the Board of Directors.
Tangible personal property may be accepted if the property can be sold immediately or as soon as practical. Items accepted include jewelry, art collections, and any other tangible personal property.
